Mother of boy who disappeared in Paraná breaks silence and reveals surprising detail: “I thought”

The disappearance of little Arthur da Rosa Carneiro, just 2 years old, has left the rural community of Tibagi, in Paraná, on alert and moved. According to his mother, a 15-year-old teenager, the boy disappeared on Thursday morning (9), while she was at home with her brother and two other children. Arthur, who used to play in front of the house, was last seen around 9 am, and since then no one has heard from him. The searches entered their second day this Friday (10), mobilizing residents, firefighters and even sniffer dogs.

The young mother reported that, upon noticing the child’s sudden silence, she immediately went out to look for him in the surrounding area. “I thought he was around there, behind the house, as always. But I kept calling and nothing,” she recounted, still quite shaken. She recalled that her son was curious and liked to venture into the thicket surrounding the family property. “He had already gone into the woods several times. Once I went to get him almost in the middle of the trail to the Tibagi River,” she said, referring to the river that runs through the region and is known for its strong waters and dangerous current.

Arthur, at the time he disappeared, was barefoot and wearing light brown pants. This detail about his clothing was reported to the search teams, who are scouring the area with the help of drones, boats, and volunteers. According to firefighters, the terrain is difficult to access and full of unevenness, which has hampered the work. “It’s a vast area, with dense vegetation and a lot of mud. Any clue, however small, can help,” explained one of the agents participating in the search.

The Civil Police are continuing to investigate the case and, so far, are not ruling out any hypothesis. There is a possibility that the boy got lost in the woods, but there is also concern that he may have been taken by someone. “We are interviewing family members, neighbors, and close acquaintances. Everything is being considered,” said an investigator.

Social media has been buzzing with excitement since the disappearance was reported. The case was included in the  Amber Alert system , which sends notifications about missing children within a 160-kilometer radius of the disappearance location. This tool, which has gained more prominence in Brazil in recent months, ensures that alerts reach those in the area instantly, increasing the chances that someone may have seen something important.

Residents of the area reported that the atmosphere is one of apprehension and solidarity. Many left their homes to help, walking through the fields and along the riverbanks. “We know the family, everyone has come together. It’s a despair that’s unimaginable,” commented a neighbor. Another resident said that the place where the boy was last seen is “very open,” but that the tall grass could quickly hide someone.

As the hours pass, Arthur’s mother tries to hold onto hope. “I just want my son back. He’s too young to be alone,” she said, her voice breaking. Family members have remained together, closely following every update brought by the teams.

This Friday, the case had already been reported on several local news pages and profiles, and the hashtag  #ProcuraArthur (Look for Arthur)  began circulating on social media. Authorities are asking anyone who has seen a child matching the boy’s description to immediately contact the Military Police at 190 or the Civil Police.

The disappearance of Arthur da Rosa Carneiro reinforces, once again, the warning about the importance of constant vigilance with young children, especially in rural areas, where access is difficult and dangers lurk even in the most familiar places. The community of Tibagi remains mobilized, hoping, with each new dawn, that little Arthur will be found safe and sound.
