This is how the house and business of the attackers of El Piñas in Puebla were burned.

After the street vendor was beaten, neighbors set fire to the alleged attackers’ home and vehicle; authorities have already identified the instigators of the mob violence.

Collective outrage in Tehuacán, Puebla, reached critical levels when residents set fire to the home and a vehicle belonging to Julio Flores Cabrera and his son Gerson, the alleged attackers of Misael “El Piñas,” the fruit vendor who was brutally beaten last Tuesday.

Images released by journalist Apolonia Amayo show the level of destruction:

  • A completely burned Chevy car
  • A two-story house with collapsed roofs and compromised structure
  • Charred personal belongings scattered on the property

Witnesses recorded the moment protesters threw gasoline bottles inside the home, igniting flames that quickly consumed the building. The violent protest arose in response to the attack on “El Piñas,” who, according to local reports, was attacked for setting up his stand in front of the Flores Cabrera business.

Authorities on alert
The State Attorney General’s Office confirmed:

  • Two riot instigators have been identified.
  • Investigations into the initial attack on “El Piñas” continue.
  • Videos analyzed as key evidence to determine responsibility

Call for calm
Misael’s mother, visibly shaken but calm, called through local media for an end to the retaliation:
“I appreciate the support for my son, but we need peace. Violence doesn’t solve anything ,” she told Telediario Puebla.

This case has reopened the debate on:

  • The limits of community justice
  • The effectiveness of public institutions in protecting vulnerable groups
  • Legal mechanisms against violence towards informal merchants

While authorities work to clarify both incidents, the state of Puebla remains alert to the repercussions of this explosive case of violence and citizen response .
