The 47th President of the United States has once again found himself at the center of online speculation – this time, over a large bruise on his right hand.
The 78-year-old was meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday (February 24), when eagle-eyed observers spotted the dark discoloration on his hand.
The moment quickly gained traction on social media, with many users debating whether the bruise was a sign of a medical issue or just an everyday injury.

As speculation grew, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt issued a statement addressing the bruise. However, her explanation only fueled more skepticism online.
“President Trump is a man of the people and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands on a daily basis than any other president in history,” Leavitt stated. “His commitment is unwavering, and he proves that every single day.”
In a follow-up statement, she doubled down on her reasoning: “President Trump has bruises on his hand because he’s constantly working and shaking hands all day every day,” per Sky News.
Despite this explanation, many online users weren’t convinced and instead offered their own theories. “Why even lie? It’s obviously an IV bruise for blood testing or something. Is it a surprise to people that Trump is old and gets regular physician visits?” one user speculated.
“The White House just said the mysterious makeup-covered bruise on Trump’s right hand is because he is ‘shaking hands all day every day’. Yeah, no. Nope. Turns out we’re not nearly that stupid,” another person wrote.
“Anyone who gets routine bloodwork can have a bruise on his hand – says nurse who has drawn a lot of blood,” someone else added.
While some people remained deeply suspicious, others downplayed the concerns, saying the bruising was normal for someone of Trump’s age and lifestyle.
“My husband had to shake hundreds of hands a day, his hands would bruise too. It’s a real thing,” one person shared. “Old man skin. I sneeze in my hand and I bruise,” a second said.
“He’s in his seventies. Older people bruise easily. This isn’t some huge conspiracy,” a fourth added.

This latest health speculation has rekindled demands for Trump’s full medical report, which he promised to release in December but has yet to follow through on.
While the White House insists there’s nothing to worry about, the internet remains divided – some demanding more transparency, while others dismiss it as just another overblown controversy.
