The Brutalist is a long watch, but it is so rewarding for those who persist with it.

Emilia Pérez is a movie that has caused controversy this year as those who haven’t seen it are questioning it’s nomination.
But for those who have, they will know there is a great movie there. It follows three remarkable women in Mexico, each pursuing their own happiness – all with the involvement of the Cartel.
I’m Still Here is perhaps the least known movie of the nominees, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t worthy of being there.
The IMDb synopsis quotes: “A mother is forced to reinvent herself when her family’s life is shattered by an act of arbitrary violence during the tightening grip of a military dictatorship in Brazil, 1971.”

Wicked was… in a word, Wicked. The musical, which is based on a stage show and a book, hit all the right marks.
Everything from the sets to the performances was incredible, and it was many people’s movie of the year.
Despite all of the movies being incredible, there could only be one winner, and the recipient of the 2025 Best Picture Oscar was Anora.
