Step 1: Sprout Your Peanuts
Start with raw, unroasted peanuts in their skin (no salt!).
Soak them overnight.
Wrap them in a damp paper towel.
Leave them for 3–5 days until you see little sprouts appear—just like magic!
Step 2: Time to Plant
Pick a deep container like a bucket or large pot.
Use loose, well-draining soil mixed with compost.
Plant each sprouted peanut about 2 inches deep, root tip facing down.
Step 3: Let Them Soak Up the Sun
Peanuts are sun lovers!
Place the pot where it gets 6–8 hours of sunlight daily.
Keep the soil consistently moist, but not soggy.
Watch as the plants grow and send out little “pegs” into the soil—this is where the peanuts will form underground!
Step 4: Harvest Your Snack!
After 4–5 months, when the leaves turn yellow, it’s time to dig up your treasure!
Gently pull out the plant and shake off the soil.
You’ll find dozens of peanuts clinging to the roots—ready for drying, roasting, or snacking fresh!
Bonus Tips:
Peanuts thrive in warm weather and loose, sandy soil.
A perfect gardening project for kids and beginners alike.
Each plant can produce dozens of pods!
Grow your own snacks, discover the joy of gardening, and turn your patio into a peanut paradise!
