Anthurium is a plant that adapts to different situations and furnishings, even though its origins lie in the forests of Colombia and it belongs to the Araceae family . Its introduction in Europe took place over a hundred years ago.
Over time, the plant develops its typical gathered shape and peripheral petioles. If it was once considered a difficult plant to grow, today it is widely cultivated. If you are not able to cultivate well, the problems lie in temperature errors and low humidity. In fact, the anthurium should be placed near the windows, in a very bright place but not in direct light. With increasing light, flowering increases, especially if the plant is protected from drafts.
The natural fertilizer for preparation at home
Fertilizing the anthurium is carried out from spring to autumn , or when the plant is in the growing season. You can use a chemical liquid fertilizer for flowering plants every two weeks. If it turns out that the fertilization is insufficient, the flowers will not open or the anthurium will only form new leaves.

You will need the peels of three bananas, which are known to be rich in phosphorus and potassium. They can help keep the soil moist enough. The peels must be cut into small pieces and placed in a bowl along with a clove of garlic , which is an excellent fungicide and bactericide and can help keep the plant healthy.
Put everything in the bottom of a plastic bottle, having previously removed the top, and add a little neutral detergent . The latter does not harm the plant and favors decomposition. Add a liter of water and leave in a cool, dry place, preferably covered with a lid, for about 48 hours.
Filter the liquid obtained and pour it very slowly onto the soil of the plant. Make sure that the soil absorbs it and then repeat the operation. You will notice that your anthurium will become stronger and more vigorous in no time. In addition, it will be protected from external influences and the attack of bacteria/plant diseases.
