Everything we know about Trump’s threat to Iran as Russia issues chilling two word warning to US

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated sharply following reports that President Donald Trump has approved a plan to attack Iran.

The revelation comes amid increasing global anxiety over the growing instability in the region and renewed warnings from Russia about the potential for a global catastrophe.

According to an NBC News report, sources revealed that Trump had approved a plan to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities as part of a broader strategy to curb Tehran’s influence and nuclear ambitions, though has not made a decision on whether to use them.

The idea was allegedly presented during high-level meetings with military and national security officials. Though no attack was ultimately carried out, the mere consideration of such a strike has raised fresh concerns about the fragility of peace in the region.

The report coincides with Israel’s ongoing military operations in Gaza, escalating tensions with Iran-backed groups such as Hezbollah and further fueling fears of a wider regional conflict.

With the United States maintaining its steadfast support for Israel, Iran’s government has grown increasingly vocal, issuing warnings about retaliation and threatening broader confrontation if provoked.

Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told Interfax this week that Moscow has advised the U.S. to steer clear of direct involvement, noting the conflict has already claimed hundreds of Iranian lives and dozens of Israeli casualties.

In addition, Russia has issued a stark message to the United States and its allies: “nuclear catastrophe.” This two-word warning, made by Russian spokesperson Maria Zakharova to Reuters, is the latest in a series of increasingly aggressive statements from Moscow amid rising global instability.

The Russian statement is widely seen as a veiled critique of Washington’s hardline policies toward Iran and unwavering military support for Israel. It also reflects broader concerns that miscalculation or overreach (particularly involving nuclear-capable states or volatile regional powers) could push the world dangerously close to a point of no return, per BBC.

Critics argue that Trump’s aggressive stance, as well as the assassination of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in 2020, has no doubt contributed to deepening mistrust and militarization in the region.

As world powers like Russia issue dire warnings and the Middle East remains on edge, global leaders are under pressure to de-escalate tensions – before the next misstep leads to irreversible consequences.
