The U.S. Embassy in Mexico lamented the murder of Commander Abigail Esparza while she was attempting to capture a fugitive U.S. citizen in Baja California.
The United States Embassy in Mexico lamented the murder of Abigail Esparza Reyes, Liaison Chief of the State Citizen Security Force (FESC) of Baja California, when she was trying to capture a fugitive from U.S. justice.
On its social media accounts, the Embassy, through press attaché David Arizmendi, indicated that the authorities of that country will redouble their cooperation with Mexico so that the homicide does not go unpunished.
The U.S. government is working closely with Baja California state government authorities to share information and ensure that we bring this fugitive to justice as quickly as possible.
“The terrible murder of Commander Esparza is a testament to the seriousness of the security problems facing Mexico and the United States, and to the importance of binational cooperation in addressing these threats,” he said.
