PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Two apartment units were damaged by a fire on Sunday evening in southwest Portland, according to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.

At about 6:15 p.m., fire crews were sent to an apartment complex on Southwest Canyon Road near Southwest Canyon Lane.

They found flames burning along the front of the building, reaching to the sides and up to the roof, according to a TVF&R spokesperson.

Everyone had been able to get out of the building, and crews were quickly able to get the fire under control.

Canyon Road was closed for a time while firefighters worked, but has since reopened.

How and where the fire started is being investigated, and no further information is available at this time.

TVF&R did not say how many people have been displaced.
